 You're On!

The studio red light above the glass partition of the control room goes  "On the Air"  as an authoritative finger inside points to you directly:

     "Silence and Attention!"

It was the only discipline Orson Welles ever knew.

I attended several totally different meetings recently: "silence and attention".  But no one was supposed to know who I was.  And at one of them I actually heard those 2 intoxicating words for the first time ever in my life.  From someone I had never met.

Thanks for the self-esteem.  You might as well have said:

 "There he is!

from inside there for all to see.

I have a speech to write.  I get 5-7 minutes "on the air" next weekend.  Thanks for the encouragement: "You're On!"
